Chinese media is famous for the news censorship and abbreviation. After the XI and Trump state dinner, Trump issued ultimatum to Xi and gave China a 90days extension for the increasing of the tariff rates and China agreed to negotiate with the United States on changes in mandatory technology transfer, intellectual property protection, non-tariff trade barriers and other issues. Chinese media not only reported it as if ” both sides have decided to stop the tariff escalation by not raising the existing tariff rates or importing tariffs on more goods!” and did not mention the 90 days deadline at all, but also added that “this positive signal points out the direction for the development of the Sino-Us economic and trade relations”!
