1. The U.S. government’s blatant announcement of imposing tariffs on 200 billion dollars’ worth of Chinese products, despite repeated objections. 
  2. Compared with the previous several weeks, in the battle of words with the U.S. media, our domestic media’s decibel is obviously much lower. 
  3. Some of the world’s major economies held a conference in Geneva on July 11th. The European Union, Japan and many other countries took the same position as the United States, criticizing China’s failure to accept market-based principles, as well as its intellectual property infringements and system of subsidies. Why is the EU, which also has trade disputes with the United States, taking the U.S. side, rather than China’s? 
  4. On July 6th, Pakistan’s anti-corruption court gave a judgment on an alleged corruption case involving former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family. The court sentenced Sharif to 10 years in prison for obtaining illegal income, concealing overseas assets and not cooperating with the investigating authorities.
  5. China firmly opposes and combats any kind of cyber-attacks, except, of course, the ones arranged secretly by our Communist Party. You all know the relationship between Cambodia and China. [skit 560]
